I served as the principal designer for a collaboration with the Pokémon Center, part of the world’s highest-grossing media franchise. We developed a collection celebrating the iconic first-generation Pokémon from the original 1996 Game Boy games. The packaging was intentionally playful—reimagining the familiar Poké Ball in a humorous, rectangular form to give the collection a distinctive visual twist.
Created to honor the original Kanto starter Pokémon—the first partners every player must choose—the design uses a clean outline style to reveal the automatic movement beneath. The final watch brings a sophisticated, collectible expression to these fan-favorite characters.
Designed to honor the OG Pokémon himself, the Original Ghost. This style places Gengar’s infamous grin over a transparent dial, revealing the mechanical movement below. The blend of attitude and craft struck fast—selling out in a single day and becoming Fossil’s fastest-selling limited edition ever.
Alongside the elevated limited edition, we created a trio of accessible styles celebrating the original 1996 starter choices—Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander. Each watch leans into its Pokémon’s elemental identity with bold, saturated color and arrives packaged in a Poké Ball–inspired take on Fossil’s signature square tin for a playful, collectible finish.
