I served as the principal designer for the Nick Jonas x Fossil collection, leading the full design vision and creation of all watches in the collaboration. From early concept development through final production, I was responsible for translating Nick’s creative direction and Fossil’s brand standards into timepieces that felt modern, expressive, and true to the partnership.

While I owned the design of every watch in the collection, the marketing, packaging, photography, and campaign materials were created by Fossil’s brand, creative, and marketing teams. My contribution focused on establishing the product story, visual language, materials, and details that shaped the watches themselves.

This project marked Fossil’s first ambassador partnership in over a decade and represents one of the brand’s most high-profile collaborations during my tenure—an opportunity to blend celebrity storytelling with thoughtful, disciplined watch design.

We chose to evolve the 18-year-old Machine platform by introducing a new, smaller square-shaped design while maintaining its signature knurling detail—an element that has made the collection instantly recognizable. By extending this texture into the bracelet links, we’ve created a dynamic surface that catches and reflects light, adding depth and refinement to the design. The shift to a square shape brings a fresh perspective to the Machine platform, modernizing its bold, industrial aesthetic while aligning with Nick Jonas’s personal style and appreciation for statement pieces. The dial features a deconstructed take on the classic Machine stick-and-dot indexes, paired with genuine stone dials that give each SKU its own depth, character, and sense of understated luxury. This collaboration blends Machine’s heritage with Nick’s creative vision, resulting in a timepiece that feels both timeless and daringly new.
